The Price Tower in Bartlesville, Oklahoma
The first month of summer has slipped away. Hope you have good plans to enjoy the Fourth of July with friends and family!
My wife and I had a wedding to attend in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Saturday where it was 106 degrees. Too hot! Then, we followed the back roads across Missouri and into Oklahoma where we heard about a skyscraper designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Apparently, the whole idea of his design was to make this building look and feel like "a tree that escaped the crowded forest." We stayed there on Sunday night and had breakfast in the morning on the 16th floor.
Now, we're in Taos, New Mexico for the rest of the week. No set plans yet ~ just maybe a visit to Taos Pueblo, a ride down into the Rio Grande Gorge for a swim, a hike up one of the side canyons in Taos Ski Valley, and some good conversation and food with our friends.
No summer reading assignment this week in honor of the Fourth of July!!!
